Applications are invited from Indian nationals for an Israeli Government Scholarship tenable from October 2012 to study at an Israeli university or any institution of higher education in Israel.

 

These scholarships are for research or specialisation for eight months, and would be available for subjects like Comparative study (with specific reference to Judaism); Middle East studies; Hebrew language and literature; history of the Jewish people; economics; agriculture; business management; mass communication; environment studies; chemistry; biology and bio-technology.

Eligibility

Master’s degree with 60% marks or more as on November 30, 2011 for the subject of agriculture, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, environment studies. Master’s degree with 55% marks or more for the remaining subjects. Proof of English or Hebrew language knowledge.

How to Apply

Applications should reach the ‘Section Officer (ES.3 Section), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, External Scholarship Division, 2nd Floor, Wing 6, West Block-1, R.K. Puram, Delhi-110066 latest by November 30, 2011. Applications can also be submitted online at the website www.sakshat.ac.in. In case of online application, hard copies should reach by December 7, 2011.

Value of Scholarship

  • The scholarship could be partial but in rare cases it could be full.
  • The partial scholarship will include tuition fees, health insurance or monthly allowance for 1 academic year (8months).
  • The full scholarship will include tuition fees, health insurance and monthly allowance.
  • All travel, transportation and accommodation arrangements are applicant’s responsibility.
  • Scholarships will be granted in Israeli Universities and for programmes approved by Israel government.
  • Scholarships for Ulpan language studies will be granted in the Ulpan chosen by government of Israel.
  • The terms and conditions of the scholarship are likely to change according to the yearly budget.
