Iran’s Al-Mustafa International University plans to open its branch in Hyderabad

 

University will offer courses in Islamic studies, Persian language & humanities

 

University has branches in Malaysia, Great Britain, Lebanon, Germany, Thailand

Al-Mustafa International University of Iran plans to establish its branch here and has sought allotment of land for the purpose.

Mahmoud Safari Farkhund, Iranian Consul General in Hyderabad contacted Syed Ghulam Afzal Biabani, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board on 1st March, 2012 to seek for allotment of Wakf land for setting up of Al-Mustafa International University’s centre.

According to Farkhund the proposed branch would offer cultural, educational and research services to both Muslim and non-Muslim students. Initially, the university will offer courses in Islamic studies, Persian language and humanities.

He also said that around five acres of land would be needed for the campus and the university authorities are ready to make any investment for the project depending on the extent of the land allotted.

A technical committee of Al-Mustafa International University’s will visit Hyderabad after the land is allotted by Wakf Board for university’s branch.

According to Biabani the board will take a final decision about allotment of land at its meeting. He also said that under the Wakf Act, the land may be allotted on lease for a period of three years but the lease can be extended.

Al-Mustafa International University with it’s headquarter at Qom town, Iran also have its branches in various countries such as Malaysia, Great Britain, Lebanon, Germany, Thailand and Syria.
